FM blasts US hostile attempts against name of Persian Gulf
“The name Persian Gulf, like many geographical designations, is deeply rooted in human history. Iran has never objected to the use of names such as the Sea of Oman, Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, or Red Sea. The use of these names does not imply ownership by any particular nation, but rather reflects a shared respect for the collective heritage of humanity,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on his X account.
“In contrast, politically motivated attempts to alter the historically established name of the Persian Gulf are indicative of hostile intent toward Iran and its people, and are firmly condemned. Such biased actions are an affront to all Iranians, regardless of their background or place of residence,” he said.
“Let”s hope that the absurd rumors about the PERSIAN Gulf that are going around are no more than a disinformation campaign by “forever warriors” to anger Iranians all over the world and agitate them,” he added.
“I am confident that @realdonaldtrump is aware that the name PERSIAN Gulf is centuries old and recognized by all cartographers and international bodies and was even used by all leaders of the region in their official communications until as recently as 1960″s,” Araghchi wrote.
“While any short-sighted step in this connection will have no validity or legal or geographical effect, it will only bring the wrath of all Iranians from all walks of life and political persuasion in Iran, the US and across the world,” he noted.

بایدن: ترامپ احمقی بیش نیست!
به گزارش خبرگزاری مهر به نقل از رویترز، جو بایدن، رئیس جمهور سابق آمریکا می‌گوید که مماشات دونالد ترامپ، رئیس جمهور فعلی این کشور با روسیه، «باج دادن مدرن» است.
بایدن در نخستین مصاحبه پس از ترک کاخ سفید، در گفتگو با بی‌بی‌سی جهانی گفت که ولادیمیر پوتین، رئیس جمهور روسیه باور دارد که «اوکراین بخشی از سرزمین مادری روسیه» است و «هر کسی که فکر کند او دست برمی‌دارد، احمقی بیش نیست.»
رئیس جمهور سابق آمریکا مدعی شد: واقعاً درک نمی‌کنم که مردم چطور فکر می‌کنند اگر به یک دیکتاتور، یک آدم‌کش اجازه دهیم که بخش‌های بزرگی از خاکی به او تعلق ندارد را به چنگ آورد، راضی خواهد شد؟!
ترامپ پس از روی کار آمدن سیاست آمریکا را در قبال جنگ اوکراین تغییر داده و برای موافقت با آتش‌بس روی کی‌یف فشار آورده و به نظر می‌رسد که در سوی دیگر به روسیه آسان گرفته است!
بایدن در بخش دیگری از این گفتگو نسبت به اینکه «اروپا رفته رفته اعتمادش را به قاطعیت آمریکا و قدرت رهبری‌اش از دست می‌دهد» ابراز نگرانی کرد.
وی افزود: رهبران اروپایی در عجبند که حالا چه کنیم؟ آیا می‌توان به آمریکا اعتماد کرد؟ آیا آنها کنار ما هستند؟!
رئیس جمهور سابق آمریکا با اشاره به دیدار جنجالی ۲۸ فوریه ترامپ و ولودیمیر زلنسکی، رئیس جمهور اوکراین در کاخ سفید، گفت که آن اتفاق او را «دلسرد» کرده است.
بایدن گفت: آن اتفاق، در شان آمریکا نبود. همچنین چیزهایی که امروز درباره آن صحبت می‌شود؛ «این خلیج آمریکاست؛ شاید پاناما را پس بگیریم؛ شاید نیاز باشد که صاحب گرینلند شویم؛ شاید کانادا باید ایالت پنجاه‌ویکم ما باشد»؛ چه خبر شده؟ کدام رئیس جمهور تاکنون چنین ادبیاتی داشته است؟ ما اینگونه نیستیم. آمریکا یعنی آزادی، دموکراسی، فرصت؛ نه مصادره!
