Qatari delegation to hold meeting with HTS leader

Qatar was one of the main supporters of terrorist groups in Syria after the beginning of the unrest in this country in 2011. Now with the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad”s government, Doha is seeking to expand relations with this country.

Qatari sources announced that the Qatari Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi headed a delegation to Damascus on Monday and is set to meet and talk with Tahrir al-Sham ringleader Mohammad Al-Jolani.

The expansion of diplomatic and political relations with the future government of Syria will be one of the main axes of this trip.

During the last few years, Qatar has played a special role in Syria”s current affairs by expanding its relations with Turkey. Even now, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and what is called the Syrian National Army (supported by Turkey) have close relations with Qatar.

Israel launches extensive attacks on Lebanon

Although a ceasefire agreement has been signed between Hezbollah and the Zionist regime, Tel Aviv is repeatedly violating this agreement with the support of the United States.

Lebanese sources announced that the Zionist army heavily targeted and bombarded the city of KafarKila in the south of the Arab country.

There have been no immediate reports of possible casualties.

Since the establishment of a ceasefire between the parties to the conflict, the Zionist regime has bombed Lebanon hundreds of times under various pretexts. However, the US and its European allies support the barbaric actions of the Zionist regime and call on Lebanon to exercise restraint.

Donald Trump keeps door open to Putin offer for talks on war

“President Putin said that he wants to meet with me as soon as possible,” Trump said during a speech in Arizona.

“We have to wait for this, but we have to end that war. That war is horrible, horrible,” he added.

Throughout his campaign to seek a second term as president, Trump repeatedly pledged to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours if elected.

“The number of soldiers being killed… It’s a flat plane, and the bullets are going, and there are powerful bullets, powerful guns. The only thing that’s going to stop them is a human body,” Trump said during his address.

Trump is set to return to the White House in January.

Earlier this month, Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris along with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Yemen attacks baffled United States air defense systems

Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the group’s Political Bureau, made the remarks to Qatar’s Al Jazeera television network on Saturday.

“Our attacks confused the US’s air defenses, and caused the country’s fighter plane to crash due to friendly fire,” he said, Press TV reports.

The official described Yemen’s pro-Palestinian attacks against American and Israeli targets as “effective,” saying the strikes had succeeded in achieving their intended results since their onset last October.

The forces have been conducting numerous such strikes since October 7, 2023, when the Israeli regime began taking the Gaza Strip under a United States-backed genocidal war that has so far claimed the lives of at least 45,259 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

The strikes have been targeting the American military assets that are deployed off Yemen’s coastline, strategic and sensitive targets across the occupied Palestinian territories as well as the Israeli ships and the vessels heading towards the occupied territories.

Bukhaiti’s remarks came after Yemen’s Defense Minister Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi warned Washington that the country was capable of sinking the US’s naval fleets, and was in possession of weapons that it had refused to deploy so far.

Yemen’s pro-Palestinian strikes have mounted enormous pressure on the Israeli regime by forcing the vessels trying to ship military hardware and other commodities to the occupied territories to take the longer route around Africa.

The operations have, among other things, effectively shut down the port of Eilat, which is located in the southernmost tip of the occupied territories.

Bukhaiti said the operations have mounted an economic siege against the Israeli regime and afflicted damage on its security.

He, meanwhile, pointed to the intense deadly attacks that the US, the UK, and the regime have been conducting against Yemen as a means of trying to stop its pro-Palestinian strikes.

“We are likely to receive painful blows, but the more the enemy mobilizes its forces against us, the more certain we become of achieving victory.”

Whenever Yemen comes under Western and Israeli aggression, “it emerges stronger and triumphant from the situation, and its internal unity increases,” the official noted.

“We are prepared to pay the price of standing by the side of Gaza, and are not afraid of the enemy’s targeted killing operations.”

Referring to the West’s designation of Ansarullah as a “terrorist organization,” Bukhaiti said, “The terrorists are actually those who perpetrate crimes in Gaza, and those who support them.”

“Our operations seek to stop the genocide in Gaza. The Zionist regime is incapable of confronting us alone, and is, therefore, seeking help from those who support it.”

Yemen not an “ordinary enemy” to Israel

Yemen”s rockets that struck Israel on Saturday have cast a shadow over Tel Aviv and its security establishments, Israeli newspaper Maariv stated on Monday, relaying the occupation”s military and security apparatus” growing concerns regarding Yemeni threats.

According to Maariv, the military and security establishment has acknowledged that the Yemeni conundrum is highly complicated, saying “Yemen is not an ordinary enemy.”

It is challenging to defeat Yemen, Maariv further added, Al Mayadeen reported.

According to a security source, Yemen is a challenge “Israel” has not faced before, and it did not know how to deal with it.

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian Resistance movements carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.

Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until unrelenting Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, which have killed at least 27,948 people and wounded another 67,459 individuals, come to an end.

The United States and Britain in December announced a military coalition to target Yemen in support of Israel.

Iran, E3 set to resume talks in mid-January

Pope again slams cruelty of Israeli bombing campaign on Gaza

“And with pain, I think of Gaza, of so much cruelty, of the children being machine-gunned, of the bombings of schools and hospitals. What cruelty,” he said during his weekly mass on Sunday.

The remarks came a day after the pontiff denounced an Israeli airstrike that killed at least 25 Palestinians in Gaza, including seven children from the same family, in Jabalia in northern Gaza.

“Yesterday, children were bombed,” he said at the top of his annual Christmas address to the Vatican’s Catholic cardinals. “This is cruelty. This is not war. I wanted to say this because it touches the heart.”

Irked by the Pope’s comments, an Israeli foreign ministry spokesman said they were “particularly disappointing.”

Pope Francis has repeatedly called for a ceasefire in Israel’s bloody aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip.

In his book published recently, he called for scrutiny over whether the situation in Gaza “corresponds to the technical definition” of genocide.

Israel unleashed its brutal Gaza onslaught on October 7, 2023, after the Hamas resistance group carried out its historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

So far, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 45,259 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 107,627 others.

During its bloody onslaught, Israel has targeted Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, such as schools and hospitals, in blatant violation of international law.
