Pyramids reclaim EPL lead, 3 points ahead of Al-Ahly

CAIRO – The Egyptian Premier League title race heated up in the 15th round as Pyramids FC edged Talaa el-Geish 2-1, extending their lead to 36 points—three ahead of Al-Ahly following their Cairo derby draw with Zamalek. The White Knights currently hold third place with 28 points.

At Air Defence Stadium, Pyramids FC struck first in the 28th minute when striker Ibrahim Adel converted Fiston Mayele’s right-wing cross.

Talaa el-Geish equalized in the 85th through right-winger Ahmed Samir, who capitalized on Godwin Chika’s header.

However, left-back Mohamed Hamdy secured Pyramids’ victory with a stoppage-time goal in the 94th minute.

At Cairo International Stadium, ZED FC snapped a six-match winless run with a triumph over Ghazl el-Mahalla.

Mauritanian midfielder Maata Magassa opened the scoring in the 27th minute, while winger Ahmed Adel secured the win with a stoppage-time goal in the 91st minute.

With this result, ZED FC climbed to ninth place with 19 points, while Ghazl El-Mahalla remained in 14th place with 14 points.

At Cairo’s Petro Sports Stadium, Enppi returned to winning ways with a 1–0 victory over Smouha, ending a five-match winless run.

The decisive goal was converted from a penalty by Ahmed el-Agyouz in the 57th minute.

With this result, Enppi now holds 12 points from 15 matches (2 wins, 6 draws, and 7 losses), placing them in 17th position, while Smouha stayed in 13th place with 17 points from 15 matches (5 wins, 2 draws, and 8 losses).

At Cairo’s Military Academy Stadium, Haras el-Hodoud and Petrojet played to a 2–2 draw.

Petrojet opened the scoring with Hadi Riad finding the net in the 9th minute, only for Hazem Mohamed to equalize for Haras el-Hodoud before halftime.

Petrojet regained a one-goal advantage in the 87th minute through midfielder Ahmed Farouk, but striker Amr Gamal promptly leveled the score in the 91st minute.

Petrojet stayed 11th with 19 points, while Haras el-Hodoud moved up to 6th with 22.

NBE Club secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Al-Ittihad of Alexandria at Arab Contractors Stadium, climbing to fourth place in the standings with 25 points.

Early goals from striker Osama Faisal and midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim put NBE Club ahead before Amr Gomaa pulled one back for Al-Ittihad in the 33rd minute.

Abdel Ghani Mohamed equalized for Al-Ittihad in the 51st, but Yao Anwar restored NBE Club’s lead in the 59th minute to seal the win. Al-Ittihad of Alexandria remains in 12th place with 17 points.

At Haras el-Hodoud Stadium in Alexandria, Pharco FC and Modern Sport concluded their encounter with a 0–0 draw.

The result boosts Pharco FC to 19 points, positioning them in 10th place, while Modern Sport’s total increased to 9 points, leaving them at the bottom of the table in 18th place.

Al-Ahly and Zamalek played to a 1-1 draw in a thrilling Cairo derby at Cairo International Stadium. Achraf Bencharki put Al-Ahly ahead in the 72nd minute, but Mahmoud Bentayeb equalized for Zamalek in the 83rd.

Al-Ahly dominated early, with Hussein el-Shahat and Nejc Gradisar creating chances. Emam Ashour nearly scored, but his shot hit the post. Zamalek pressed hard in the second half, and Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo’ tested goalkeeper Mohamed el-Shenawy before Bentayeb’s equalizer.

Despite late efforts from both sides, the derby ended in a draw.

El-Gouna secured a 2-0 win over Ceramica Cleopatra at Khaled Beshara Stadium. Ahmed Magdy “Kahraba” struck in the 27th minute, while Tolulope Samuel Ojo sealed the victory in the 86th.

With this result, El-Gouna climbed to 15th place with 13 points, while Ceramica Cleopatra stayed seventh with 21 points.

Ismaili and Al-Masry played to a goalless draw at Borg el-Arab Stadium.

Al-Masry remained fifth with 24 points, while Ismaili moved up to 16th with 13 points.
