WHO Launches Groundbreaking AI-Powered Tool to Accelerate Health Emergency Response

Geneva, May 16 (QNA) – The World Health Organization”s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean launched a groundbreaking innovation aimed at transforming how countries prepare for and respond to emergencies.

The new toolset – All-Hazards Information Management (AIM) – leverages generative artificial intelligence to drastically reduce the time needed to produce critical emergency response documents from weeks to minutes, while maintaining high technical standards and contextual relevance.

Developed by the WHO Health Emergencies Team in the Eastern Mediterranean with support from NORCAP, a program of the Norwegian Refugee Council, the AIM toolkit addresses the urgent need for rapid, reliable, and context-aware mechanisms to guide decision-making from the onset of a crisis.

The toolkit enables swift access to and organization of WHO technical guidance and partner resources, streamlines response frameworks around clearly defined objectives, actions, and indicators, and facilitates the automatic generation of essential documents such as risk assessments and response plans.

This innovation ensures technical completeness and relevance even under intense time constraints, helping national health authorities manage crises more effectively. (QNA)
