Cairo International Airport recorded significant growth in passenger and flight numbers in January 2025, handling 2.587 million passengers and 18,450 flights. This marks a 9% increase in passenger traffic and a 7% rise in flights compared to the same period in 2024.
Officials expect further growth in the coming months, driven by increased demand for Umrah travel during Sha’ban and Ramadan, along with the airport’s range of services catering to passengers on multinational carriers.
Eng. Ayman Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, stated that the increase reflects Cairo Airport’s strategy to strengthen its position as a key regional aviation hub. “Through continuous investment in infrastructure and operational efficiency, we are committed to enhancing the passenger experience and supporting Egypt’s aviation sector,” he said.
Magdy Ishaq, Chairman of Cairo Airport Company, emphasised that the figures highlight the airport’s dedication to high-quality services. “Achieving such growth at the start of the year confirms our efforts to maintain excellence and reinforce Cairo Airport’s role as a leading gateway connecting Egypt to the world,” he added.
