China”s Digital Industry Records $1.18 Trillion Revenue in Q1
Beijing, May 17 (QNA) – China”s digital industry recorded revenues of 8.5 trillion yuan (approximately $1.18 trillion) in the first quarter of this year, achieving year-on-year growth of 9.4%, according to official data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
This growth is 4.4 percentage points higher than the same period last year, reflecting an accelerating pace of digital transformation across sectors of the Chinese economy.
Revenues in the digital manufacturing sector rose by 10.4%, while digital services grew by 8.2%. The software industry alone generated 3.1 trillion yuan in revenue, marking a 10.6% year-on-year increase.
In terms of digital infrastructure, the ministry revealed that the number of 5G communication base stations exceeded 4.39 million by the end of March, with the user penetration rate reaching 75.9%. (QNA)
