Dubai: Aster helps those stuck in traffic end fast at iftar

Dubai: Aster DM Healthcare along with Dubai Police distributed Iftar kits to motorists across Dubai as part of a Ramadan initiative..Now in its sixth year, the campaign was led by Aster Volunteers, the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare, in collaboration with Dubai Police, It aims to provide essential Iftar kits to individuals stuck in traffic while breaking their fast daily. Over 100 volunteers, including Aster Volunteers and community members, distributed these kits across five major traffic junctions in Dubai..The volunteers included employees from Aster Hospitals & Clinics, Aster Pharmacies, and community volunteers who are giving out 150,000 Iftar boxes over 30 days. On average, around 5,000 Iftar boxes are distributed daily across Dubai. These boxes contain a packet of dates, water, a cake, and juice..Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare, said, “Breaking fast on time is crucial for those observing Ramadan, yet many motorists find themselves stuck in traffic during Iftar. Over the last six years, we have witnessed how our Iftar kits provide much-needed relief, allowing individuals to break their fast safely and continue their journey without stress. We are honored to continue this initiative in collaboration with Dubai Police, ensuring we bring comfort and support to our community members during the holy month.”.First Lieutenant of Dubai Police, Abdullah Abdulrahman, also emphasised the importance of the initiative, saying, “We are proud to collaborate with Aster DM Healthcare for the 6th consecutive year to distribute Iftar Kits to motorists. Our partnership with Aster DM Healthcare reflects Dubai Police’s commitment to initiatives that promote safety, well-being, and compassion.”.Last year, the campaign successfully distributed 150,000 Iftar Kits across the UAE and 117,000 kits in the previous year. This year, the initiative has expanded its reach within Dubai, increasing the distribution to 150,000 kits and reinforcing Aster DM Healthcare’s dedication to supporting the community during Ramadan.

Abu Dhabi: With tens of thousands of visitors expected at the BAPS Hindu Mandir during the Eid Al Fitr holidays, Abu Dhabi Police and the temple management have issued guidelines for devotees and guests to follow..“Abu Dhabi Police have provided essential visitor guidelines to all who plan to visit the BAPS Hindu Mandir this Eid,” the temple management said in a media statement on Tuesday..“To effectively accommodate the large number of devotees and guests during Eid, the Abu Dhabi Police and the BAPS Hindu Mandir management kindly request all visitors to strictly follow the guidelines,” it said..As per the guidelines, pre-registration has been made mandatory for visiting the temple over the Eid holidays..“Given the overwhelming interest and increasing popularity of the Mandir, all visitors are strongly advised to register in advance to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.”.Visitors are required to register in advance via the “Mandir Abu Dhabi” app or website and arrive at the Mandir as per their designated time slot to ensure smooth entry and crowd management..No entry for walk-in visitors.“Walk-in visitors without prior registration may not be able to enter due to capacity constraints,” the temple management said..Since its opening, the Mandir has welcomed more than 2.2 million visitors in its first year, reflecting its profound spiritual and cultural significance within the community..During the Eid weekend of 2024, the lack of a booking system had made it difficult for the volunteers to manage the crowd and they had to work with the police to allow visitors in an orderly manner. .The management said they had the experience of “more than 60,000 devotees eagerly awaiting entry during the Eid weekend of 2024.”.Considering the growing enthusiasm among residents and international guests to visit the temple, especially during the holidays, the Mandir has expanded its on-site parking facilities and introduced shaded areas to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for all, the management revealed.
