Iran condemns US “inappropriate behavior” against Iranians

Referring to the US government’s “inappropriate” treatment of immigrants, Baghaei stressed the importance of adhering to international norms, describing the “inhumane actions” of the US government against Iranian nationals as “unacceptable.”

He emphasized that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in line with its legal obligations, will take all necessary measures to protect the rights of Iranian citizens abroad, PressTV reported.

He also noted that instructions have been issued to Iran’s Interests Protection Office in Washington, D.C., as well as to diplomatic and consular missions across South America, to provide assistance to Iranian nationals deported from the US.

“Iran is the homeland of all Iranians, and our compatriots can freely return to their homeland,” Baghaei stated, reiterating the Foreign Ministry’s readiness to facilitate their return and resolve related issues.

The remarks come as the first flight carrying migrants from Iran, Afghanistan, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam arrived in Panama on Wednesday.

During a weekly press conference on Thursday, Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino confirmed the arrival of 119 individuals from various nationalities. “Yesterday a flight from the United States Air Force arrived with 119 people from diverse nationalities of the world,” Mulino said.

Zelensky reveals plan if Ukraine not admitted to NATO

“If we are not in NATO, or not yet in NATO, […] we must have an army that is capable of protection, and a matching number of Ukrainian soldiers. I’m just telling you the numbers. This will be an army of 1.5 million people,” he said.

According to Zelensky, today’s Ukrainian army is about half this size. This bigger army will cost more money to maintain – $60 bln – Zelensky added.

Earlier, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth told Breitbart News that Ukraine is unlikely to be made a part of NATO today, saying instead that it could take 25 years for this to happen. On February 12, he argued at a regular meeting of the Western contact group in Brussels that a return to Ukraine’s 2014 borders was unrealistic. He also effectively ruled out the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO. Later, US President Donald Trump said that Hegseth’s statements accurately reflected Washington’s position. He also pointed out that the West”s efforts to pull Kiev into NATO, particularly the repeated statements by former US President Joe Biden, were among the reasons why Russia had launched the special military operation in Ukraine.

Saudi Arabia trying to find alternative to Trump”s Gaza plan

Saudi Arabia is reportedly spearheading those efforts, the Reuters news agency reported, citing 10 anonymous sources familiar with the matter.

The sources said draft ideas will be discussed at a meeting in the Saudi capital Riyadh later this month, with Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates planning to attend.

One unnamed Arab government source said at least four proposals had already been drafted for Gaza’s future, but an Egyptian proposal has emerged as a preferred alternative to Trump’s plan.

The details of that plan have yet to be announced.
