Trump says he will hold meetings on Iran in coming days

US President Donald Trump on Thursday said he hopes the Iranian nuclear crisis can be solved.

The remarks came after it was reported that Trump is planning to name his Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff as his point man on Iran, signaling the new administration’s resolve to address Tehran’s nuclear program diplomatically rather than militarily.

“I’m not going to answer that,” Trump first replied when asked by reporters in the Oval Office whether he would support an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, adding that he would be holding meetings with various senior officials on the matter shortly.

“Hopefully that can be worked out without having to worry about it. It would really be nice if that could be worked out without having to go that further step,” Trump continued.

“Iran will hopefully make a deal, and if they don’t make a deal that’s okay too,” he said.

Israeli officials’ resignation clear sign of defeat in Gaza

If Gaza were defeated, Islam would suffer, and when Gaza won, it means Islam attained victory, Major General Hossein Salami added.

“We did not back down in the face of the enemy and we never failed at any point,” he emphasized.

“We were not worried about the enemy”s economic blockade, nor about its military threats and intimidation,” IRGC commander underlined.

The recent events have shown that right triumphs over the wrong, he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Salami referred to the dimensions of the Palestinian Islamic resistance Movement, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad Resistance Movement’s victory over the Zionist enemy despite the apparent devastation of Gaza and added, ” In Gaza battlefield, those who remained with strong hearts come out victorious.”

Touching upon the resignation of Israeli military officials after the end of the Gaza war, Major General Salami emphasized that is a clear sign of the Zionists” defeat in the Gaza war.

If Gaza had been defeated, Islam would have been harmed, and when Gaza won, it meant that Islam won, and this resistance is inspiring to Muslims, he noted.

Donald Trump says he plans to reach out to North Korea leader

Trump was asked about his plans for Kim during an interview on Thursday and whether he would “reach out”.

“I will, yeah. He liked me,” Trump said.

Trump and Kim had an unusually strong rapport during the president’s first term in office for two nations at odds since the Korean War some 70 years ago. Trump has previously described their relationship as “very, very good” and has referred to Kim as a “smart guy” in the media.

During his first term in office, Trump met with Kim on three separate occasions between 2018 and 2019.

In 2019, he made history as the first sitting US president to visit North Korea since a 1953 armistice brought a de facto end to the Korean War.

Following his re-election in November, Trump’s team said they were weighing reopening “direct talks” with Kim.

According to Al Jazeera, Trump’s close relationship with Kim, however, has put him at odds in the past with South Korea, a US treaty ally, and potentially even members of his own cabinet as he heads into his second term in office.

Israeli gen. says Trump saved soldiers” lives by truce deal

In an interview with an Israeli radio, Retired Major General Yizkhak Barik said that “Israel did not defeat Hamas. The army is too small and cannot carry out a mission like destroying a movement like Hamas. All the celebrations we have about destroying Hamas are nonsense.”

“Hamas has about 500 kilometers of tunnels and we have only destroyed less than 10 percent of them, now Hamas has about 25,000 fighters. We cannot win without staying on the ground, we cannot win without destroying hundreds of kilometers of tunnels. Today the number of Hamas forces has returned to its normal size before the war,” Barik said.

When asked if the military was lying, he replied, “A big lie! There is a lot of fear among officers to tell the truth. All the celebrations that are being held under the pretext of conquering Gaza and winning the war are nonsense. Today we are in a very difficult situation in Gaza and Trump saved us from losing hundreds more soldiers in Gaza.”
