Russia Drone Strikes on Ukrainian Cities Only Hours After Peace Talks, Killing, Wounding Civilians
Just hours after the second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, Russia once again launched deadly attacks on Ukrainian civilians.
In the early hours of June 3, Russian drones attacked the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv, causing widespread destruction. Fires broke out across the city, residential buildings were damaged, and four people were injured.
Chernihiv is located in northern Ukraine, approximately 70 kilometers from the Russian border. According to Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, four people were wounded in the attack – two women and two men were taken to the hospital.
“There was a confirmed Shahed strike in a residential area. There are civilian casualties,” Bryzhynskyi said.
Falling drone debris caused several fires. Residential and industrial buildings, cars, apartment blocks, a school, several stores, bus stops, and private homes were damaged.
