Russians Launch New Air Assault on Kyiv

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported on X that medics responding to the scene in the Solomyanski district have been hospitalized.
In the Holosiivski ditrict, he said, a gas station has been struck, and there are reports of damage from falling debris there as well as in the Desnyanskyi and Darnytskyi districts.
The new head of the city’s Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, warned of a risk of ballistic missiles being deployed against the capital, Reuters reported.
He reported fires in residential buildings in throughout the capital and said drones had struck the upper floors of a high-rise apartment building in Darnytskyi district, erupting in flames.
Similarly, in the Solomyanskyi district, a fire reportedly broke out on the 11th floor of a 16-story residential building. Residents were evacuated.

Kyiv Post reporters in the central district of the capital heard explosions at around 3 a.m. local time as the mayor and other local authorities issued shelter-in-place warnings and initial reports emerged of three injuries so far resulting from the blasts.
Several drones could be heard hovering overhead as air defenses worked continuously, resulting in several very big blasts.
The blasts come within hours of US President Donald Trump’s warning to the Kremlin not to retaliate for Ukraine’s successful attack earlier in the week on 41 Russian warplanes deep within Russian territory.
Emergency response authorities have begun to issue updates:
“Solomyansky district:
fire in a non-residential area. Rescuers are working to localize it. fire on the 8th-10th floors of a 16-story residential building. The State Emergency Service is working to localize and eliminate the fire on site. The rescue operation is ongoing.
Darnytsky district:
debris falling on a playground. Preliminary – no fire. information about debris falling in several locations. To be clarified.
Holosiivsky district:
fire at a civilian infrastructure facility.
Restoration of electricity supply to the micro-districts on the left bank is underway.”
