Two Palestinians Martyred in Israeli shelling across Gaza Strip

Gaza, May 27 (QNA) – Two Palestinians were martyred and others were injured in Israeli shelling last night on several areas in the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported that one person was martyred, and others were injured when the Israeli occupation shelled a house in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City. Another person was martyred, and others were injured in Israeli shelling of the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip.

The eastern areas of Gaza have witnessed a series of airstrikes by Israeli warplanes, while Israeli artillery and vehicles continued their shelling.

In a related context, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees UNRWA reported that only six of the agency”s 22 health centers are operating inside and outside shelters, due to the ongoing bombardment in Gaza. It noted that essential medical supplies are extremely scarce and that there is an urgent need for the unimpeded delivery of life-saving assistance.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces have launched an offensive on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of 53,977 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 122,966 others. Meanwhile, a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, where ambulance and rescue teams are still unable to reach them. (QNA)
